Dark wood holds a deep beauty that is often difficult to reveal through light. It requires subtle contrasts and tones, rarely easy to find. Species such as Ziricote or Wenge call for a particular approach — almost meditative.
I wanted to find a balance: the golden warmth of a veneer responding to the dark elegance of the wood. A duo, imagined as a conversation between materials, that I named Astra.
Astra allows light to reveal the subtle emotions of wood: the translucent rosewood veneer joins its gentle glow with the depth of Ziricote. Together, they create a dual effect — both intimate and radiant — in harmony with the reflections and shadows of the space they inhabit.
The dialogue between wood and light continues here, in an Uphile creation that respects and enhances every style, while bringing its own: a natural, timeless elegance, imbued with serenity and a quiet sense of eternity.
